The perfumer
Claire Liégent
About
Claire Liégent’s path to perfumery began with food and wine. Raised in France’s Champagne region in a family restaurant, she initially studied oenology before entering ISIPCA in 2007. Her training included an apprenticeship at Symrise and work at IFF with mentors Pierre Wargnye and Dominique Ropion.
She co-founded the Paris fragrance boutique Nose in 2012 and worked in New York, Grasse and São Paulo before joining Takasago’s Fine Fragrance Studio in 2023. Her approach draws connections between cooking, winemaking and perfume: selecting materials carefully, building balanced combinations, and leaving room for intuition and unexpected contrasts.
