About

David Apel began his fragrance career at Givaudan in 1980, working as a formulator before becoming a perfumer in 1988. He later worked at Fragrance Resources, returned to Givaudan, and joined Symrise in 2007. This background combines years of practical formula development with creative work for international fragrance brands.

His credits include Cerruti 1881 pour Femme and Hugo for Hugo Boss, as well as work on Tom Ford Black Orchid and the Private Blend collection. The range of those projects makes his portfolio useful to explore across different styles, rather than through a single signature note or fragrance family.
