Overview
Dune imagines the meeting of land and sea through a warm, softly woody fragrance.
Released in 1991, it approaches the coastal idea differently from an obvious fresh marine scent. Its rounded amber-coloured bottle, designed by Véronique Monod, reinforces the connection to sand and sunlight.
Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Dominique Ropion and Nejla Barbir are credited with its creation. Dune is part of Dior’s longstanding fragrance heritage, with a character that sits apart from the house’s more overt floral signatures. This is the women’s Eau de Toilette; Dune Pour Homme is a separate fragrance released later.

A different kind of seaside fragrance
Do not choose Dune expecting a cold, salty splash. Its appeal is warmer and more softly textured, which makes it an interesting alternative to the usual idea of a beach fragrance. If powdery or amber scents rarely work for you, sample first. The name alone gives only part of the picture.
