About

Dominique Ropion discovered perfumery while working in a fragrance laboratory during school holidays. He went on to train as a perfumer and joined IFF in 2000, becoming one of its master perfumers in 2018. The Fragrance Foundation recognized his career with its Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award in 2019.

His creations and collaborations include Portrait of a Lady and Carnal Flower for Frédéric Malle, Givenchy Amarige, Mugler Alien and Lancôme La Vie Est Belle. Alongside composing fragrances, he has helped train new perfumers and evaluate new aroma materials. His work brings together an extensive knowledge of perfume history and an interest in what new ingredients can make possible.
