Overview
Poison was designed to provoke.
Its name, dark amethyst bottle and expansive floral character made a striking statement when Dior introduced it in 1985. Édouard Fléchier created the fragrance, while Véronique Monod designed the distinctive apple-like bottle. It remains closely associated with the bold perfume style of that decade.
This is the original Poison Eau de Toilette. Hypnotic Poison, Pure Poison and other later members of the family have their own identities. If you are exploring the collection, the original explains the dramatic image behind the name, but it does not stand in for every fragrance that followed.

Choose it for its character, not the family name
Poison is one to approach with curiosity rather than a blind-buy expectation. Its rich, dark floral style can be exactly the attraction, or simply too much for your taste. If Hypnotic Poison is your reference point, this deserves a separate test. Start with a small amount and decide whether its boldness is something you actually want to wear.
