Eau de Toilette

Overview

Instinct is where David Beckham’s fragrance story began.

Launched in 2005 and created by Béatrice Piquet and Alain Astori, the original Eau de Toilette has a fresh, aromatic style with a recognisable spicy edge and dry woods underneath. It established a straightforward, groomed direction for a range that would become much larger.

Instinct went on to inspire numerous interpretations, from fruitier limited editions to the later Eau de Parfum. This is the original silver-capped version: the starting point for the family, rather than one of its anniversary releases or offshoots.

Start with the original

The first Instinct is worth trying if you like citrus freshness backed by dry spice and woods. Its aromatic edge is the reason to choose it over a purely fruity cologne. Check that you are buying the silver-capped Eau de Toilette: the later Eau de Parfum and anniversary release are different versions.
