Overview
Fleur de Peau is Diptyque’s portrait of skin, softness and intimacy. Created by Olivier Pescheux in 2018, it gives musk the leading role in a powdery, gently floral fragrance.
Its story draws on the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche, reflecting the founders’ fascination with ancient legends. Diptyque uses that love story to frame a tactile scent: the focus is the feeling of warmth and softness, with musk suggesting skin and fabric.
Iris and ambrette add texture, while pink pepper brings a small spicy contrast. Despite the floral name, this is primarily a musk-centered fragrance. It offers a different starting point from the house’s more literal flower portraits, particularly if you are drawn to powdery, cotton-like qualities rather than a lush bouquet.

Soft and musky, rather than a big bouquet
The appeal of Fleur de Peau is its soft, musky character. Think about the texture you want from a perfume: Diptyque describes this one in terms of cottony softness, rather than a big bunch of fresh flowers.
If powdery or musky scents usually put you off, don’t buy it just for the pretty name. Try it on skin first. And remember that a soft character doesn’t necessarily tell you how long it will last or how noticeable it will be on you.
