Overview
Absolue Pour le Matin gives the freshness of a summer morning a softer, more dressed-up feel, with a powdery floral character beneath its brightness.
Francis Kurkdjian created the original in 2010, a year after Cologne Pour Le Matin. Together with Absolue Pour Le Soir, it expanded the house’s morning-and-evening pairing into Eau de Parfum. The two Absolues explore very different moods: light and aromatic here, honeyed and animalic in Le Soir.
The silver-capped bottle shown here belongs to the original release. Kurkdjian returned to the name with a reworked fragrance in 2024, so an older bottle and a current one should not be assumed to smell identical.

Fresh, with a powdery twist
This is worth exploring if you like fresh scents but find a straight citrus cologne a little too simple. The powdery floral side gives the brightness a gentler, more rounded feel.
That softness is also the deciding factor. If you want a sharp, icy or sporty fragrance, iris and violet may take it somewhere you did not expect. For a vintage purchase, make sure the seller is offering the original 2010 version rather than the newer interpretation.
