Carlos Benaïm

Carlos Benaïm is a master perfumer at IFF whose career connects scientific training with a lasting interest in art and nature. Born in Tangier, Morocco, he studied chemical engineering before entering perfumery. At IFF, he trained under Ernest Shiftan, developing the foundation for a career across many fragrance houses.

His portfolio includes Ralph Lauren Polo and Eternity for Men, alongside collaborative creations such as Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb and Yves Saint Laurent Libre. Benaïm draws inspiration from painters as well as landscapes, seeking clarity and emotional expression in a composition. Mentoring younger perfumers has also been an important part of his work.
