Overview
Libre Eau de Parfum pairs a bold floral character with aromatic freshness. Created by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm in 2019, it introduced the fragrance family built around YSL’s idea of freedom.
That fashion connection is visible in the bottle, where an oversized gold Cassandre logo wraps around the glass beneath an asymmetric black cap. The fragrance follows the same idea of contrasts, bringing fresh lavender into a warmer orange-blossom setting.
Vanilla and musk give the flowers a softer foundation, while the lavender keeps an herbal edge. This original Eau de Parfum is the starting point for the Libre collection. Later versions explore different emphases, so it is worth distinguishing the exact edition rather than choosing by the familiar bottle alone.

A floral scent with a bit more edge
Libre Eau de Parfum makes sense if you want a floral perfume with a bolder character. Lavender gives its warm floral style an aromatic edge, which is the part to pay attention to when you sample it.
If you’re after a very light flower scent, this might not be your first choice. Start with this original Eau de Parfum before exploring the other Libre bottles. Work out whether you like the basic style first, then see if another version gives you something you prefer.
