The perfumer
Pierre Negrin
About
Pierre Negrin was born in Grasse, where both of his grandfathers worked with plants and materials used in fragrance. Initially drawn to photography, he discovered perfume creation through a laboratory internship while studying physics and chemistry. He learned through practical laboratory work rather than a dedicated perfumery school.
His career took him from France to Mexico and the United States, with roles at Quest and Givaudan before joining Firmenich’s New York team in 2008. His portfolio includes work for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, as well as Amouage Interlude Man and Journey Woman. Earthy materials and memories of Grasse remain recurring interests in his approach.
