Overview
Tam Dao draws on Diptyque co-founder Yves Coueslant's childhood memories of Vietnam, particularly the scent of sandalwood around forests and temples.
The Eau de Toilette was introduced in 2003 and gives that personal story a softly spicy, woody character with a fresh edge.
It is one of the house's clearest expressions of wood as the central subject. This is the Eau de Toilette, distinct from the later Tam Dao Eau de Parfum. The two share an inspiration, but their different interpretations make the concentration worth checking before choosing a bottle.
