Overview
Masculin Pluriel revisits the aromatic barbershop tradition with a woody, leathery character and a deliberately classic sense of polish.
Francis Kurkdjian created it in 2014 as the masculine half of the Pluriel pairing. Its Eau de Toilette format contrasts with Féminin Pluriel’s Eau de Parfum, while both share the idea of a fragrance that can outlast fashion.
The house calls on the fougère tradition, a style associated with lavender and aromatic freshness, rather than a modern sugary or aquatic theme. The silver-capped bottle fits that understated direction.

For a taste for the classics
Masculin Pluriel is a strong candidate if you like the clean, groomed feeling of barbershop fragrances and want a woody, leathery version of that style. It has a clear identity without needing a sweet, attention-grabbing theme.
If lavender and traditional men’s colognes remind you of something you would rather leave behind, it may feel familiar in the wrong way. And if you already own several fragrances in this family, compare them before spending more: refinement only matters when you can smell the difference you prefer.
