Eau de Toilette

Overview

Sauvage Eau de Toilette is the original 2015 entry in Dior’s modern Sauvage collection, created by François Demachy. Its identity is fresh, peppery and dry, with an ambery woody backbone.

Dior’s starting point was a wide, sun-heated landscape beneath an open sky. That contrast between air and heat carries through to the fragrance: a bright citrus opening sits against a much drier, more substantial base.

This is the reference point for the later Sauvage versions. The Eau de Parfum adds a warmer vanilla emphasis, while Parfum moves toward creamy woods and Elixir toward rich spice and lavender. The Eau de Toilette keeps the clearest focus on the brisk citrus-and-pepper character that introduced the collection.

For people who like a fresh, bold scent

Sauvage Eau de Toilette is a good starting point if you like freshness with a firm woody edge. It’s a more obvious choice for someone after an energetic scent than someone looking for something soft and sweet.

The familiar name can make it tempting to buy without trying, but it’s still worth checking how you feel about that character on skin. If you want more warmth, compare it with the Eau de Parfum. Choose the one you enjoy rather than buying whichever version gets mentioned most.
