The perfumer
Delphine Jelk
About
Delphine Jelk joined Guerlain in 2014, contributing to collections including L’Art & La Matière and Aqua Allegoria. Her work develops new compositions within a house with a long perfumery tradition, balancing familiar materials with different textures and contrasts. In 2021, she was named a Chevalier of France’s Order of Arts and Letters.
Guerlain describes warmth and rounded textures as recurring features of her compositions. Iris, musk, vanilla and almond are among the materials and effects she particularly enjoys, alongside powdery and milky notes. These interests offer a way into her work: looking at how softness and richness are balanced by tension between ingredients.
