Thierry Wasser

Thierry Wasser was appointed Guerlain’s master perfumer in 2008, following a career that included Givaudan and Firmenich. His work combines composition with an extensive interest in natural raw materials, taking him to the places where ingredients are grown and processed. He received France’s Légion d’Honneur in 2014.

At Guerlain, his creations include work within the Absolus d’Orient and L’Art & La Matière collections, alongside bespoke perfumery. The relationship between ingredients, the people who produce them and the finished fragrance is central to his role. His approach places the craft of sourcing alongside the craft of composing, connecting the laboratory with the origins of its materials.
