Eau de Parfum

Overview

Sauvage Eau de Parfum gives Dior’s fresh, spicy signature a warmer side. Released in 2018 and created by François Demachy, it develops the original’s character around a richer vanilla base.

The inspiration is the desert at twilight, when the heat of the day meets cooler night air. It is a useful way to understand the fragrance’s contrast: familiar citrus freshness remains, but warmth and softness become more prominent.

Bergamot and aromatic spice connect it to Sauvage Eau de Toilette, while the vanilla adds depth without making this simply a sweet vanilla perfume. Within the collection, it offers a different balance from both the drier Eau de Toilette and the creamier, sandalwood-led Parfum. Choose between them for their character, rather than treating concentration as a ranking.

Freshness with a warmer side

This version is worth trying if the fresh side of Sauvage appeals to you, but you also like some warmth and sweetness. It keeps that fresh starting point and gives it a rounder background.

Choosing between this and the Eau de Toilette? Try both. The EDT may make more sense if brightness is your priority; the EDP is worth a look if you want a warmer balance. If you already own one, decide whether the difference is something you actually want before buying another bottle.
