Francis Kurkdjian

Francis Kurkdjian established his reputation with Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male before expanding into bespoke perfumes and artistic scent installations. He opened a made-to-measure perfume workshop in 2001 and co-founded Maison Francis Kurkdjian with Marc Chaya in 2009. In 2021, he was appointed Creative Director of Fragrances at Dior.

His practice extends beyond perfume bottles to collaborations with artists and installations in cultural spaces, including Versailles. At his own house, he approaches the collection as a fragrance wardrobe, with different compositions expressing different moods. That breadth connects large commercial creations with more individual experiments in how scent can be experienced.
